500 Miles (SIFSOL)

Music moves me, makes me want to run. My playlists are named based on how I feel that day, eclectic mixes based on my mood.

Sundays I like to share music from my running playlist and created Sunday Is For Singing Out Loud.

The Proclaimers – I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)

I have had The Proclaimer’s on my playlist for quite some time, it’s fun, upbeat and lets me sing with a really bad Scottish accent. Who doesn’t want to sing with a Scottish accent?

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of seeing two of my friends vow to spend the rest of their lives together. It was at the wedding that I heard a remake of I’m Gonna Be and it blew my mind!

The ceremony was beautiful and when it came time for their first dance as husband and wife they chose I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by Sleeping at Last. This has to be the most amazing remake of a song I have heard in a long time.

Sleeping At Last – I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)

The remake has made it to my playlist, not for running but to remind me how when you love someone nothing should stand in your way.

Not even 500 miles.

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” Bob Marley

What is your all time favorite remake song?

Do you have any slower style music on your playlists?

I am a wife to a retired Army Captain and present day shepherd, a mother to two Big's (20 & 19) and one Little (6) and new to running at the age of 42. I am hopelessly addicted to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha's. My family thinks I am crazy. The voices in my head say they may be right.

4 Thoughts on “500 Miles (SIFSOL)

  1. I love the remake! That is such a good song that way.

I have quite a few slow songs on my playlist, mostly Michael Buble. Though a lot of his songs are slower, they are still happy and uplifting and I really like to run to them.

Thanks for checking out my blog through the running bloggers site! I love your blog and will definitely follow you now!!

    • Michael Buble, fellow Canadian and oh so cute! A friend of mine worked on his It’s A Beautiful Day video and his company was responsible for the explosion FX at the end of the video.

  2. I remember that song, such a good one!! I love that they had it at their wedding that is awesome and so romantic :)

I’ve got some Lorde songs – Tennis Court and Royals which is slower than what I’d normally go for, I kind of have a mix and I will run to slower songs sometimes depending on my mood!

    • I have a few slower songs on my playlist too and it pisses the Mister off when he grabs my Walkman for his run by mistake. I’m going to check out Lorde, always looking to add to the playlist. :)
