Happy Friday! I am linking up with the DC Trifecta Friday Five again today and to celebrate Valentines Day we’re talking about love.

What is Love? The dictionary defines love as a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person but love is so much more than a definition in the dictionary.

Love

1 – Love is the way Mister knows how to make me laugh when I have had a grumpy day. Love is how he touches my face when he kisses me. Love is the way he makes me feel like I can do anything I set my mind to and his encouragement to keep going when I think I can’t.

Spread Love

2 – Love is his hugs, warm and safe. Love is always keeping his promises. Love is the way he looks at me when he thinks I can’t see him. Love is the sacrifices he has made for his family.

Great Relationships

3 – Love is the way he makes me feel safe and secure. Love is the way he still makes my breath catch and heart skip a beat with just a look. Love is being my best friend.

Relationships Last Long

4 – Love is the way he would do anything to make me happy. Love is the way he makes me feel smart and clever. Love is the way he supports his family. Love is the was he agreed to couples counselling all those years ago when it would have been easier to walk away. Love is the way he makes me still feel like the only girl he want to be with … even after 25 years together.

Mutual Weirdness

5 – Love is the way he brings out the best in everyone around him. Love is the way I can tell him anything and he never judges me. Love is the way he still tries to cop a feel when he hugs me. Love is taking his 6-year-old son to see the latest Lego movie on Valentines Day.

What is love for you?

Meet Anita

I am a wife to a retired Army Captain and present day shepherd, a mother to two Big's (20 & 19) and one Little (6) and new to running at the age of 42. I am hopelessly addicted to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha's. My family thinks I am crazy. The voices in my head say they may be right.

  1. We have some half baked plans for V-Day given the snowy weather conditions. We were going to travel in town but not now with all of the snow. BUMMER. V-Day is typically an ordinary day for us because we do things for each other throughout the year so today is really just another day. I love seeing folks getting flowers and exchanging cards though. Any reason for a party or to display affection – I am all game for.

  9. Love this what a beautiful beautiful post! Your husband sounds like a great man. Love all the quotes you put up too. Especially the one about fighting for your relationship. I think too often people don’t work on their relationships and expect things to be smooth sailing and when they aren’t that something is wrong when the truth is relationships take work but the effort is so worth it to have something so amazing :)

Hope you and the mister enjoyed your V Day!
