Medals, Mizuno’s and Mmm Mmm Food – MIMM

Welcome back to another Marvelous in My Monday hosted by the lovely Healthy Diva Eats.

Marvelous is – Movember and Moustache Cat! cat-markings-3 Marvelous is – The Mister’s medal for last Sunday’s 10k race. Mister had a finish time of 45:46 and placed third in his age category. We had not stuck around after the race to see the awards because we had a ferry to catch so we had no idea he had even placed. When the results were posted on Monday morning we realized he had placed so we headed on down to Runner’s Choice on Saturday to pick up his medal. DSC_0051   Marvelous is – New Kicks. While at Runner’s Choice Saturday morning I noticed they had the new Mizuno Sayonara’s  in stock so of course I had to try them on and they may have followed me home. I gave them a whirl yesterday on the treadmill for a 5k hill workout and so far I like them. They are a neutral shoe with very little drop between the heel and forefoot, super light and have a wider toe box than the Enigma’s I have been running in. I have duck feet so the wider toe box is a huge bonus for me. Added bonus … they match the duvet cover on our bed. 😀 DSC_0057   Marvelous is – While downtown on Saturday we took advantage of the  Kingston Public Market and loaded up on Honey Crisp apples, fresh Ontario cabbage, a rutabaga as large as my head, leeks, brussel sprouts and much more. I hope you are having a Marvelous Monday my friends.

Three things you did this weekend?

Do you shop at the  farmer’s markets in your area? What tasty treats do they have for you this time of year?

Meet Anita

I am a wife to a retired Army Captain and present day shepherd, a mother to two Big's (20 & 19) and one Little (6) and new to running at the age of 42. I am hopelessly addicted to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha's. My family thinks I am crazy. The voices in my head say they may be right.

6 Thoughts on “Medals, Mizuno’s and Mmm Mmm Food – MIMM

  1. What a cool medal and an awesome time on his 10K! Congrats to him. :)
    I love your new shoes!

This weekend I took my toddler to gymnastics, ran in a 5K, and spent the afternoon at the aquarium. It was a wonderful time! We do have some good farmer’s markets in our area BUT unfortunately I never get to go to them because they are all during the week and I work. I get a lot of produce at a local Amish market on the weekend though. They have some excellent things there.

    • I wish we had an aquarium here to visit, I think our closest one is Toronto so we would have to turn it into a weekend outing. Will pass on your congratulations to the Mister, I think I’m more excited about it than he is. :)

  2. The new kicks are hot. I am hella envious of your fridge right now. Mine ain’t looking so good :) three things? hmm. Went to tampa bay, saw my cousin get married, came back to the cold :)

    • By the end of the week the fridge will look bare except for the leftover containers that keep getting shoved to the back. :) I would love to get out of the cold even if it was only for the weekend. I’m trying to convince the Mister to do a Disney race but so far he isn’t interested.

  3. I’ve been wanting to try the Sayonaras!! Mizunos are by far my favorite running shoe, right now I’m in the Wave Rider 16’s.

I love shopping at the farmer’s markets but don’t go as often as I’d like. They have great produce and fun random things (local olive oils, local honey, fresh pasta). Annnddd now I want those so maybe I’ll have to go this weekend…. :)

    • I’m a big fan of Mizuno’s and now that I have had some time to run in the Sayonara’s I can honestly say they are my favorite. Love the wider toebox for my duck feet :)
