Welcome back to another Marvelous in My Monday hosted by the lovely Healthy Diva Eats.

Marvelous is – A Friday Night Laundry Marathon with a glass of red wine followed by a rather excited game of Go-Fish with two of my favorite people on the planet. I was accused of cheating on more than one occasion. What some may call “cheating” I may call “strategy”!

Marvelous is – A bitter cold Saturday was declared an official Pajama Day for Little and me while the Mister headed out to work in the fields. Because it was an official Pajama Day, Little and I created some “Coconut Men” to decorate. I took my mum’s shortbread recipe and substituted the flour for coconut flour … the results were “meh” however if you add enough icing and sprinkles to anything it will always taste better right?

Marvelous is – Finally WE HAVE SNOW! Sunday morning showed up with a heap of snow for us. Just in time for Christmas.

mimmsnow Marvelous is – My Sunday treadmill run. In the schedule was a 8k negative split meaning I needed to run the last 4k at a faster pace than the first 4k. I succeeded and ran the last 4k 6 minutes quicker thanks to The Ramones, Eminem and OK Go.

Marvelous is – The video for OK Go’s Here It Goes Again. Oh the Irony.

Marvelous is – I will be announcing my first Give-Away on Friday … but first I need you to ask me some questions.

How was your weekend? What Marvelous things happened?

Don’t forget – I will be doing my very first 5 for Friday Vlog that answers YOUR questions about me. Ask anything (ANYTHING?) in the comment section and I will randomly select 5 of your questions to answer next week. No topic is off limit unless it is something that I wouldn’t say in front of my Mum … she reads my blog … and I’m kinda-sorta trying to keep it clean here folks.

On the plus side you get to hear my funny Canadian accent and I will try to say “toque” “aboot” and “eh” at least 10 times while wearing the dogs reindeer antlers and a foam red nose. Who doesn’t want to see that?!?

Meet Anita

I am a wife to a retired Army Captain and present day shepherd, a mother to two Big's (20 & 19) and one Little (6) and new to running at the age of 42. I am hopelessly addicted to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha's. My family thinks I am crazy. The voices in my head say they may be right.

10 Thoughts on “MIMM #8

  1. Great job on the treadmill negative split workout! For a question, I’d submit: “Do you have a green thumb or a black thumb?” I know you have sheep, but do you garden?

  2. I LOVE THAT VIDEO! It sounds like you had such a wonderful and relaxing weekend! More icing makes everything taste better. :)

    • I know, it’s the best video ever. I am definitely not that coordinated on the treadmill and any attempt to do what they are doing would likely result in a nasty spill. :)

Agreed, icing always makes it better!

  3. Sounds like such a fun weekend! I try to find the “perfect” sugar cookie recipe every year and epically fail every time! But, icing ALWAYS comes to the rescue! And great job on the workout!

    • It was a fun weekend, thank you. I’m still on the lookout for the perfect sugar cookie too, if I find one I’ll let you know. :)

  4. Well done on the negative split run that is awesome and not always easy to do :)

Love that you finally have snow, that is so cool.

Do you have names for your sheep? :) What other animals do you have if any?

    • Thanks Jan. :)

I love that we have snow for Christmas too however it can all disappear on January 2nd and I’d be OK with that. :)

  5. Well done on the negative splits on the treadmill. Running on a treadmill can be a bit daunting to start with so doing it and knocking out negative splits is awesome. You are reminding me that I need to crack down and get some cookie baking done. Maybe something for this weekend. Just have to remember not to eat them all myself. haha

    • Thanks Theresa, I’m hoping to nail a negative split at ATB in March.

I have a hard time not eating all the cookies too so I started making half batches of everything. Less temptation. 😀
