After 25 years with the Canadian Army the Mister and I gave up a 6 figure income, sold our dream home and decided to pack it in to spend our days in a rented house on a small island on Lake Ontario where my husband now tends to a rather large flock of sheep.
My career was heading in an upward direction quickly and I took a transfer with the company I had been with for the last 5 years with a 45 minute commute every day, not including the ferry crossings. I was spending 12 hours everyday away from home and was absolutely miserable. I found it difficult to stay motivated with an unorganized office that lacked the leadership I had grown with over the past 5 years.
At the end of July I chucked my business suits and heels, upgraded my daytime attire to Under Armour and Mizuno’s and haven’t looked back.
I now spend my days running, searching for local races, baking bread, folding multiple loads of laundry, finding lost things and taking pictures.
