Sunday is for Singing Out Loud

“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” Bob Marley

Music moves me, makes me want to run. My playlists are named based on how I feel that day, eclectic mixes based on my mood. My RUN ANGRY playlist contains a lot of Eminem, great beats and cuss words to shout out when I feel like the my world sucks. Lyrics to motivate and help push me through the pain, make me forget about whatever it is that needs to be forgotten even if it’s only for an hour. This is the song; my anthem that will get me through all of the half marathon training, this will be the song that starts the half for me and the song that will see me through to the end.

Look, if you had, one shot
Or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted
In one moment
Would you capture it, or just let it slip?

WARNING: Explicit Content. There Be Some Cussin’ In This Song

So here I go it’s my shot. Feet: fail me not
This may be the only opportunity that I got
You can do anything you set your mind to, man

Please leave a comment, I would love to know …

Do you workout with music or without?

Do you have an anthem?

I am a wife to a retired Army Captain and present day shepherd, a mother to two Big's (20 & 19) and one Little (6) and new to running at the age of 42. I am hopelessly addicted to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha's. My family thinks I am crazy. The voices in my head say they may be right.

4 Thoughts on “Sunday is for Singing Out Loud

  1. Lose Yourself is a classic pump you up song — I love it! I’m definitely a music lover and have to have music when I run :)

  2. I do love music! I used to run with music religiously but have found myself not listening to it as much anymore. Especially when I run with other people and we can talk. I don’t really have an anthem, I will listen to something over and over for a while and then find something new.

    • I usually run on my own however the days I have been out with someone else I find myself turning off the tunes and enjoying the company of my running partner. I’m always on the lookout for something new, some playlists get boring after a few runs. Thanks for stopping by Lacy 😀
