Volleyball and Your Earworm for the Day

Item – Halloween is here and I’m not one to get dressed up or excited however I will be wearing this today. My former colleagues didn’t get it and I had to explain the definition of a noun to several people last year. Seriously!

Item – Following 36 blogs on Bloglovin and taking the day off of the computer yesterday means I have at least 36 blog posts to catch up and comment on. How is your day starting out?

Item – I bought more Under Armour ColdGear® pants yesterday because they were on sale. I may need a 12 step program. And a new dresser for all of my running gear.

Item – Besides running and yoga I’m not a very active person. Last night the Mister and I headed up to the local community hall/gym for several rounds of volleyball. I haven’t played volleyball since being a Junior in High School … 20 years 25 years 30 years a long time ago. There was trash talk and shenanigans. I used my boobs as much as I used my hands and arms. I had a blast and plan on making it a regular Wednesday night.

Item – Today my arms are bruised, my shoulders ache and the “girls” are swollen. Volleyball is hard on us older folks.

Item – I stayed up way too late last night watching this movie. It was bad, really bad. Like a car wreck I couldn’t look away. 108 minutes of my life I won’t get back.

Item – Need an earworm for the day? This song is currently playing on the radio. You’re welcome.

Item – Someone is not a fan of  Alan Thicke’s little boyThoughts?

Item – This fills my heart with Happy. 2:15 and 3:50 had me nodding my head and the violin brought tears to my eyes. The world is filled with grace, we need to be open to it.

Item – Since starting this post my Bloglovin feed has gone from 36 posts to 42.

Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, what are you going as this year?

How many blogs do you follow? How many are sitting in your feed needing to be read?

What movies have you sat through and thought “There’s 108 minutes of my life I won’t get back?”

Meet Anita

I am a wife to a retired Army Captain and present day shepherd, a mother to two Big's (20 & 19) and one Little (6) and new to running at the age of 42. I am hopelessly addicted to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha's. My family thinks I am crazy. The voices in my head say they may be right.

  1. We always used to do ‘family themes’ for Halloween … but now that both kids are in high school THAT is done! :) My wife and I had pirate outfits we saved so we are each dressing up like that today – she went to work dressed up, and I will dress up to hand out candy. The kids are dressed as Doctor Who and a mobster (that also allowed them to go to school ‘dressed up’ while meeting the ‘no costume’ policy).

I follow most things on RSS through Feedly (on Mr Reader on iPad), and I have stuff across my statistics/physics/semiconductor professional interests, music (playing, technology and listening), computer games, gadgets, deals, and running and health. I have several hundred feeds. Ugh.

As for movies, we don’t get out much to them – partly because if we have together time we’d rather be someplace to talk to each other! But I had gotten free tickets that were set to expire, so we went to see Don Jon. Meh – never getting THAT time back! Let’s see – if you think real life is like porn you will have screwed up relationships. Crap, just spoiled the whole movie for you …

    Have a great day!

    • We didn’t do too much for Halloween for a few years after the Big’s became too big and too cool for it but the Little is 6 and pretty stoked for the sugar high. That’s what happens when there is a 13 year gap between kids.

Thanks for the heads up on Don Jon, I’ll be sure to include it in my “don’t bother” file :D.
